ok i know ive not updated in a long time.
it's really tiring, getting used to working hours + little social life...
first week of official work at conrad was ok.
ALOT, as in really ALOT of things to learn at Front Office, time passes relatively fast, and working hours usually stretch up to about 11 hours.
No complains as banqueting are suffering 12 hour shifts everyday. (my heart goes out to you girls).
I started to get used to front office a little, with the managers and supervisors. but politics was so obvious over there. the different cliques and groups.
Then i was in the biggest dilemma, as to whether to go over to concierge. I really want to go concierge, but i liked working with Frankie (duty manager). But i got convinced by Shawn Tripp (teacher) and others who gave good advice, to go try out concierge.
And...
I'm loving my job.
the people are nice. really. super funny, alot of bitching, teach me alot on how to save our own ass', cause alot of ppl like to push the blame to us.
the manager is funny, nice, friendly, helpful. i get to see duty managers alot. (i've met 4 gay managers, and they're all so nice)
thought i do alot of opening of doors, fluffing of pillows, but it's really fun trying to meet customer's requests, interacting with them, more than i did at front office which was mainly just check in and check out, rooming.
even though my learning process in concierge is much much slower than in front office, i really like it here. at least i don't DREAD work. as the people are nice.
and i hear treetops colleagues aren't very nice. working environment is boo... so thank god i didnt go there, and thank god i went to concierge =) hehehe
oh..
today i met up with christina, lynette and joyner. SO LONG NEVER SEE THE DUMBERNARIANS. hearing all the different attachment stories. i'm happy with my job. there are others much better, but it's give and take la. hahaha =)
my last week shift was all morning, so i was entitled to a little social life at night =) newton circus crab =) VCD shows, visiting SPCA looking at lovable animals, window shopping, driving.
next week, afternoon shift all the way till midnight. hahaha =)
got to go get beauty sleep now. tata.
